1) Please read the Plot before you make a character. Our board is set a bit into the future and not reading the plot could lead to some confusion and needless questions. It’s an RP board you should be used to reading.
2) Please check the Character Position List before making a character. This is to prevent things such as having two kings of Araluen and such. If the position you want is full, there are still plenty of other countries and groups that need people.
3) You may not role-play a canon character or a relative of a canon character without admin approval. This to prevent lore-breaking such as Will and Alyss having had children. As fun as it would be to be a descendent of Will or Halt, this is not allowed. Ask before you make a character claiming to be the child of someone from the books.
4) You may only have three characters. In order to be make a second character your first character must have 30 posts, OOC posts do not count towards this goal. In order to be allowed a third character you must have 60 posts, preferably spread out between the two characters you already have.
5) You must apply and be accepted before you can role-play any character. I understand waiting is boring, but this is to prevent having characters that are too powerful or don’t make sense.
6) Posts should be at least 250 words. This may sound difficult, but if you’re descriptive it isn’t very hard to accomplish.
7) All posts should be in third person as well as in paragraphs. This makes it easier to read and understand. The second part of the code is Oakleaf.
8) No powergaming/meta-gaming/god moding! This is unfair to other role-players and it takes the fun out of it as well. The story is more interesting when the characters behave realistically. If your character is totally untouchable, it’s boring.
9) Death is a possibility on this forum. We are a world on the brink of a great and tragic war, however; you need the consent of the other writer before you can kill someone’s character. Keep in mind, if your character dies, they remain dead.
10) This is a PG-13 board. Do not go into extreme detail on blood and gore. If you absolutely must torture someone or ‘bed’ someone, use the typical – fade to back - concept. This series itself is PG-13, please respect that. If this becomes an issue you will receive a temporary or permanent ban depending on the severity of the issue.
11) Be active! It’s hard to advance a story when half the people needed to finish it are gone. We understand that life happens, and sometimes you need to leave for an extended time. If this happens let us know. Post on the leave of absence forum and tell us how long you will be gone. If you are inactive for more than two weeks without informing any of the admins, your account will be deleted.
12) Please be respectful to the staff. We are doing our best to make this forum the best it can be, but we are human. We will occasionally make mistakes, please bear with us on this. Don’t ridicule the staff for making a decision you disagree with. If you have a severe problem with a staff member that you would like to address please PM either Lilythe Ashecroft (owner), or William Altman (co-owner).
13) Have fun! Anyone caught not having fun will be given a kitten and told to cheer up! :)
